I first met Finley about 8 years ago. We met though friends and she worked as my set designer on a show I was producing in an about-to-be-converted peep show venue on 42nd and 8th avenue. I really had not seen much of her work at this point and I had no idea what to expect but I knew that I liked her and I could trust her completely to come up with something creative and unique. Well, she far exceeded my expectations. Her vision was inspiring and really fit with the vibe of the show.
Fast forward to 2010 when I got a call out of the blue from Finley asking me if I was in New York and around to take some pictures for her. As luck would have it, I was on my way there and jumped at the chance to shoot her especially after I had seen her recent project of wallpapering dumpsters in a blog post randomly. I was super excited to see what her new project was. She is now currently living in Rome but had been commissioned to create these huge gorgeous backdrops for a local dance company in New York. Here I am with her and her assistant, Rachel Warner, at the studio she is renting in DUMBO for a few months making ART!
